I%26#39;m finally getting some time to write the remainder of our trip report!
Day 6(8/27) - We slept in a little again this morning then hit the gym. Grabbed an egg mcmuffin from Whaler%26#39;s and just walked around and relaxed. Spent the day at the pool/beach. That night, we went to th Old Lahaina Luau. We really had a great time! The people who work there are so friendly and the system they have to direct you to your table is very efficient. I especially enjoyed the way they greeted you - with a mai tai! We walked around to explore the grounds and then had dinner. The food was pretty good and the show was great! A very fun evening
Day 7(8/28) - We got up early to go on a snorkel tour to Molokini/Turtle Town. We went with Aqua Adventures. I has read some positive reviews and we liked the fact that they only took 35 people max. We had a great time! There were only 11 people on our trip. They served a continental breakfast and zoomed us out to Molokini. I have to say that my expectations were a little too high for Molokini. As soon as we jumped in we saw a small reef shark!! I was pumped - but that%26#39;s about as much excitement that we had there. There weren%26#39;t a ton of fish. It was nice - just not spectacular. We then made our way to Turtle Town. I liked this a lot better than Molokini. We probably saw about 10-12 turtles. We also saw a lot of fish and the coral was beautiful. Definitely a good snorkeling day! On our way back, we had lunch (cold cut sandwiches, chips, cookies, and of course mai tais!). I would definitely recommend Aqua Adventures - they were great.
We then went back to the hotel to lounge by the pool/beach. That night we ate at BJ%26#39;s pizzeria in Lahaina. What a good pick! The pizza was really delicious and the atmosphere was super casual. They serve Chicago-style pizza and the prices are good - around $25 for dinnner.
Day 8(8/29) - We decided to do some shopping around Whaler%26#39;s and Lahaina today. I got a little burnt on the snokeling trip so I wasn%26#39;t jumping at the idea to put on a bathing suit :) It was a very casual and relaxing day. I love Lahaina! It%26#39;s such a cute town. That afternoon, DH was dying to jump off Black Rock and have me take his picture doing it...sigh! We walked down and he actually jumped off a couple of times to ensure I got the shot. We decided to go to Hula Grill for dinner. We sat in the restaurant part (not the barefoot bar). Dinner was pretty good but dessert was the best - a homemade ice cream sandwich...very yummy! I think our bill was around $85.
Day 9(8/30) - Today was our last day in Maui :( We got up early to snorkel at Black Rock. We then had the buffet at the Westin. It was good, but not worth the $27 per person price tag! We then checked out and walked around Lahaina for a bit before heading to the airport for our 3:00 flight.
We had such a wonderful time in Maui and cannot wait to return! I would like to do the Road to Hana next time (when DH can drive!!) and check out some other snorkeling places.
Thanks for reading!
