Trip Report 9/5

Today we drove to Paia. It was a very easy drive and we got there in about 40 mins. We had coffee and breakfast at Anthony%26#39;s Coffee. When we went into the store, we were surrounded by the coffee bean aroma. I had a cup of cappuccino, and it was great. We strolled around town and checked out the stores. This town had a little different vibe than Kihei. It was cool and hip :)

Of course we went to the Paia Fish Market for their ';famous'; Ono burger. We also had the seafood chowder and fish taco. All was wonderful.

For dessert, we went across the street to Ono Gelato. After a few tasting, we picked the lilikoi flavor and lychee flavor. The lilikoi (passion fruit) was very refreshing and the texture was creamy.

After that, we continued the road to Maui Winery. Portion of the drive was with narrow turns but the view was breathtaking. We tasted several of their wine but Hubby and I were not too crazy about their red wine. We tried the pineapple wine and thought it was not bad. It was not excellent but it was good souvenir. We took the half-an-hour winery tour. The ground itself was peaceful and with lots of tropical and exotic plants. The best part I thought was our guide, Emily. She started the tour with ';talk story'; and gave us the backgrounds of the ranch and Maui. The story was fascinating and she was awesome.

We went across the street to the ranch store and had their beef burger. The claimed to have the freshest beef on the island. Not sure if that was true but the burger was indeed very good.

I also enjoyed your report. We always intend to make it to the winery. You have convinced me to put in on our schedule for our next visit which will be in January %26#39;09.

You can never be too informed. Sounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the report; especially since it covered an area you don%26#39;t hear much about.

Gave me some ideas for an upcoming trip..

You made me very hungry!!! Thanks for the report.
