Luas in Oahu

Hello planning a tip to Oahu in October any good ideas on where to go for a luas????

Luas in Oahu

Do you mean Luau? If so, I%26#39;d recommend the Polynesian Cultural Center - and see the Horizons show - best on the island. It%26#39;s not really a traditional luau, but it is a great show.

If you really mean ';lua';, which is a Hawaiian term for bathroom...

They are all over the place. McDonald%26#39;s are always a favorite when out on the road.

Polynesian Cultural Center has the best Polynesian entertainment in Hawaii.

I really enjoyed Paradise Cove luau. It was a lot of fun, scenic location by the ocean, fun games before the show, and decent food and drinks.

Whenever we have guests who want to go to a luau (and that is just about any guest who is here for the first time) we take them to the Paradise Cove Luau.

Yes, it%26#39;s touristy and has moments of great glitziness and unabashed silliness. It also has world-class dance performances (their entertainment director is O%26#39;Brian Eselu, a very well-known and respected kumu hula) and is in a gorgeous setting on a lovely ocean lagoon---beautiful sunsets are pretty much guaranteed. Pig-unearthing ceremony, fire dancers, and you can paddle a canoe around the lagoon (with an escort). My grandkids LOVE that!

BTW, if you%26#39;re interested in having a few adult beverages during your luau experience you%26#39;ll want to skip the Polynesian Cultural Center luau. It%26#39;s run by the Mormons---no alcohol allowed. Undoubtedly a great show but if you%26#39;re looking forward to having a nice Mai Tai when you get there you%26#39;ll be sorely disappointed.

Here%26#39;s the website for the Paradise Cove Luau:

Paradise Cove... hands down.. it has a good Luau and plenty of Luas.

Being that Poly cultural Luau faces the east it has no sunset,

Being that it is also sponsored by a church, it has no liquor.

We have gone to the Paradise Cove...lots of fun!! Beautiful beach, hawaiian food, all the mai tai%26#39;s and blue hawaiians you could drink! Definitely the best one!!!

Save your money and wait until you can go to Maui. When we stayed on Oahu our concierge recommended that we not spend our money on a luau while on Oahu and, instead, wait until we got to Maui so that we could see something authentic. We are glad we took his advice!

What did you see on Maui?

Amberloo, I was having that same thought when I saw the topic header and going to myself ';boy, I hope there are a lot of those!';.

But, on topic, two we%26#39;ve done in the order of preference.

1. Ali`i Luau at the PCC

2. Germaine%26#39;s
