Shorts at Tidepools?

I%26#39;ve read a lot about how casual things are on Kauai, but DH wants to know if it would be OK to wear shorts and a nice polo shirt to dinner at Tidepools. Or should he bring a pair of long pants and dress shoes? Hate to pack them just for that one evening, but don%26#39;t want to be ';underdressed'; either.

My DH %26amp; DS wore khaki shorts and a nice polo when we had dinner at Tidepools in July, and they fit right in with everyone else. I don%26#39;t recall seeing anyone dressed up - and I think they would have been out of place w/ other diners.

While the Hyatt gets a few visitors that really ';dress up'; for dinner - they are definitely in the minority and cause for other folks to look curiously at!

Shorts are just fine - a collared shirt and nice slippers and you%26#39;ll be all set!

Hubby wears the same thing he would wear on the golf course. He never wears slacks while on Kauai except at his customer%26#39;s site.

We were just there on Friday night for dinner and DH wore shorts and an aloha shirt. I did see people dressed up a bit more but not the norm. I made a comment to DH about the girls with the high heals on!Nothing but sandals with NO heels for me on vacation.

Nice shorts and polo shirt with sandals is the norm, but you do see flip flops and heels.

I saw a couple dressed to the nines. She wore a turquoise sequined cocktail dress, 4 inch heels, he had on a jacket and a tie. I could just imagine the amount of luggage they had to bring.

Thanks everyone - that makes packing easier - and will certainly be more comfortable - no sequins here LOL!
