Surfing Lessons on Maui

My fiance and I will be in Maui next month and would like to take a 2 hour surf lesson. Just by a google search there appear to be tons of companies out there.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which one to use or did anyone have a good experience with any of the Maui providers?

We did a lesson with Goofy Foot in Lahaina and Id definitely use them again we had no problems. Make sure you buy the photos the are really funny to look at afterwards.

We also used Goofy this summer. Both of my girls were up on the boards but let me warn you, its crowded. Most of the surf schools use the area and that day it was like bumper ball. Later on in the day (we did later morning lesson) it wasn%26#39;t as bad. Good instructors, no complaints.

Goofy Foot is the way to go! My husband and I went the other day and had a blast. Got up on the board our first try. Our instructor was Matt, who I highly recommend! Make sure you%26#39;re up for it though... lots of paddling. The guys that were in the other group quit... too much work for them. What a waste of money! Anyways, we got the pictures which was really worth it. You don%26#39;t want to be taking pics while your trying to learn. The early morning class is the best. The wind hasn%26#39;t picked up yet, so the ocean is glass. Also, we were the first ones out and had first dibs on the waves. You can also rent surf boards their too. $15 for 2 hours... not bad! We are going again in a few days...wish us luck!!

Tito, where are you staying? If you are staying south Maui there is no reason to drive to Lahaina for a surf lesson. The actual instructor is more important than the company. I personally would go for a private lesson. If you are staying south Maui, check out Maui Waveriders.

Big Kahuna in Kihei is great if you are staying in South Maui. Here is their web address www.bigkahunaadventures.com

I%26#39;m staying at the Sheraton so Goofy Foot is probably the way to go. Thanks!
