Top things Kauai tourists should bring or leave home

So, name one thing that tourists don%26#39;t bring that they should, and one thing tourists do bring that they should%26#39;ve left at home...

Top things Kauai tourists should bring or leave home

Bring binoculars

Leave worries at home.

Top things Kauai tourists should bring or leave home

small backpack - perfect for hauling stuff to the beach.

1/2 your clothes - you really won%26#39;t need 1/2 of what you pack - though I think the previous post from Kauaigerl was the best answer!! :)

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

Bring enough sunscreen and use it! I see so many visitors walking around with red, painful sunburns, especially this time of year! I%26#39;m always sorry for them because it will affect their whole time here!

Leave fancy, slacks, dresses, blazers at home. You can live (and dine) here in shorts, casual shirts and sandals or slippers (sundresses also for ladies).

Malama Pono,

Janet

Bring your sense of AHOLA!

Leave your worries and stress!

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

';Bring your sense of AHOLA!'; -- sorry ';1Delphi'; but you might also want to bring that old ';Aloha'; with you as well -- said with a smile :)

Malama Pono,

Janet

Kevin,

Depending on where you stay...If you have washer and dryer...Pack as little as poss. If you can get away with it, just do carry on luggage.

Always have camera on hand....

Leave cell phone at home....

Bring old tennis shoes you don%26#39;t mind getting red dirt on, a good pair of sunglasses, binoculars are nice, and a small foldable bag to put things in when you go to the beach.

Leave sport coats, fancy clothes and good advice to pack light. You will want to bring some Kauai made products home.

Bring binoculars and a good camera. We couldn%26#39;t be without either on the islands.

I agree about leaving a lot of your clothes and shoes behind. I pack way too many shoes all the time and they are heavy in the luggage.

Bring : compact umbrella

Leave @ home: new white shoes (running, golf, sandals, etc)

skip the fancy clothes and real shoes. It%26#39;s too hot for that and none of the restaurants have a dress code beyond country club casual including nice shorts. Especially in summer, long pants are a drag.

Sun protection is extremely important. It doesn%26#39;t take long even with spf 50 if you are in and out of the water.
