Does it look like we have time to eat breakfast at all?

Originally booked hotel room (via Expedia) at Westin Resort - Garden View w/ breakfast in the hotel restuarant. Breakfast hours are from 6:30 - 10:30.

This is our itinerary which doesn%26#39;t really give room for breakfast:

Day 1 - Road to Hana. Plan to leave really early. If grabbed breakfast at 6:30AM and left by 7 that might not be early enough? We plan to make it to Gulch.

Day 2 - 7AM Ziplining in Ka%26#39;anapali

Day 3 - up early for the sunrise ; could get back in time before breakfast is over since sunrise is early. (most tours I saw get back by 10 but we will be driving )

Day 4 - We do have time for breakfast because nothing is planned in morning.

Day 5 - Snorkeling Trip at 7AM

So from the sound of it we probably just have time to grab a bagel or something on pretty much almost all the days... the breakfast they said has a buffet and most buffets I%26#39;ve seen do have bagel/light breakfast options.

However, the room with the breakfast is actually the cheapest deal - the way they have their sales, the same room w/o breakfast is more $ so there isn%26#39;t really a point in changing it.

I tried to change ziplining but they are booked up...

Wow, that%26#39;s a lot of getting up early on vacation! Maybe you can change the snorkel cruise to an afternoon time? I know Trilogy offers a sunset snorkel cruise which departs later and would give you time for breakfast. Also, you may be able to eat a quick breakfast on the morning of your zipline because the meeting place for the zipline is literally a one-minute drive from the Westin. You can even walk. For the road to hana day, I think 7:00 is early enough, but it all depends on how many stops you want to make along the way. You%26#39;ll probably be back in time for breakfast the morning of your sunset viewing at Haleakala because it is so cold up there you will literally want to leave right after the sun comes up! Bottom line, it%26#39;s do-able to fit in breakfast most mornings.

The Trilogy sail offers a light breakfast of fruit, and wonderful homemade cinnamon rolls. Also if I%26#39;m not mistaken the Kaanapali Zipline also offers a light breakfast. Check their website to be sure, but I think that%26#39;s where I saw it. We ate breakfast in Paia right before our drive to Hana. We were finished eating at 7 AM and had plenty of time for the drive.

Aloha! It looks like you have a typical East Coast kind of itinerary like us. I don%26#39;t know about the Westin but the Hyatt a few steps away has home made turn overs from their on site bakery and StarBucks Kona. You might grab that and also CJ%26#39;s deli which is near the Kaanapali golf course close to all of the hotels in Kaanaplai has take out breakfasts yu can grab before you head to Hana and so on.

I think what happytravler is asking is whether she will have time to eat breakfast at the Westin since it is included in their package price. Is that correct happy? Otherwise my post is way off! :)

Happy - this is why hotels offer breakfast included in some of their packages. Room and breakfast sound good when you book it, then you realize all your excursions won%26#39;t allow time for breakfast. So, only about 50 percent of people that go for that package actually use it, so the hotel wins. Maybe talk to the hotel about your dilemma and maybe they%26#39;ll change your package to non-breakfast, but maybe a room upgrade. It%26#39;s always worth asking. MOST of the time breakfast included is a little more than the room only rate. In this case, you lucked out or didn%26#39;t luck out with the lower price with breakfast included. Given that, however, the hotel is probably not inclined to do anything.
