';Island Orientation'; at Aloha Beach Resort- worth it?

We have booked our vacation through Resort Quest. An added ';bonus'; is that we each receive a free complimentary breakfast and island orientation at the Aloha Beach Resort on the first morning that we are on the island. I would like to know if anyone has had experience with this program. Is this just a time-share session in disguise? or is it worth going to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

';Island Orientation'; at Aloha Beach Resort- worth it?

Most likely a timeshare talk but Aloha Beach is not a timeshare property. They must be pitching their other properties.

I have stayed and had breakfast there. Trust me it is nothing special.

';Island Orientation'; at Aloha Beach Resort- worth it?

We gave Island Orientatiion Breakfasts at Lawaii Beach Resort, with a free breakfast as well.

I thought they were great founts of good information, about all kinds of things to see and do on Kauai. Some free, some activities that cost, luau%26#39;s, driving directions for sight seeing, and covered the island from Koke%26#39;e to Ke%26#39;e beach.

The time share information was very brief, and was referred to as the ';discount ';. No hammering or beating anyone up. Not even a minute long.

Many people liked to come to the breakfasts again, and again, on suceeding visits. Our activity/conceirge people renewed old friendships with the attending time share owners. Nice !

Our speakers were fun and excited, and imparted lots of interesting information.

Mostly, aftter the briefing, those who wanted to book activities, let us know what they wanted to do, and they came back later in the day to book them.

Should they want the substantial discount on an activity they could sign up for a time share of the POINT, but it was not jammed down, nor were they beat up, in any way.

Your choice, if you know the island well, and have been here previously, and planned and studied the guide books, I would probably pass. If not, you might learn some neat things and have a fun breakfast.

At least our at LBR were fun, and entertaining, and informative. I do not know what Resort Quest is doing.

These orientations usually have people from the different island activities there to talk about their activity and try to get you to sign up for them. Usually you%26#39;re offered discounts on the activities if you commit to a timeshare presentation which is done at a different time. They often have attendant prizes, too, so you may win an activity, or deck of cards, or... .

Just don%26#39;t do it...step AWAY from the offers...you get much better info right here. Pull a couple of maps from the internet and buy a couple of bagels! HA..enjoy your stay

If breakfast is free, I%26#39;d say do it (but I am a sucker for free). We%26#39;ve been to the one at the Point a couple of times - if you%26#39;ve never been to the island before, it%26#39;s a good overview of the layout of the island and the variety of activities available. We won a 2-1 surfing lesson one year. However, note that the activity vendors that may be there are not the only ones who offer that activity, and you may find it cheaper or better from someone else (i.e., Jack Harper is always there promoting their heli tours, but we went on InterIsland and LOVED it). I also didn%26#39;t think our surfing lesson was that great - probably could have found a better instructor someone else.

As for timeshares, I think the orientation at the Point just said ';if you%26#39;re interested in attending a timeshare presentation, sign up with the concierge'; or something like that.
