My son is looking for a hotel in Kauai for his honeymoon in October. Having a GREAT beach is very important, not to mention a beautiful resort. Does anyone have a recomendation?
Hotel with a GREAT beach?
1. Hyatt
great hotel, fabulous pool, not a good swimming beach
2. new hotel: Koa Kea
will be on a very good beach but isn%26#39;t opening until late summer
3. Sheraton
Great beach but only stay ocean side
4. Marriott Beach Club
Great pool, close to restaurants and a swimmable bay
5. Hanalei Bay Resort
North shore, rent private condos only, beach at the bottom of the path, popular honeymoon site, close to the top beaches.
October is a great time of the year for a honeymoon on Kauai.
6. Princeville Hotel will be closed for renovations
See wizardpub.com and you can get aerial views of all these places.
Hotel with a GREAT beach?
Thank you very much!
Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!
I%26#39;ll add my voice to this list also --
The Grand Hyatt - a luxury property situated on a beautiful beach - but it is not swimmable - so there are several ';fantasy'; pools (including one saltwater lagoon) to compensate. Restaurants, shopping, Anara Spa and other amenities make this a luxury property.
Po%26#39;ipu Bay Golf Course adjoins this property.
The Sheraton Kaua%26#39;i - a more moderate property, but situated directly on a beautiful stretch of Po%26#39;ipu Beach, which is usually swimmable. Two smallish pools (one garden side, one ocean side) a lovely restaurant and lounge that sit right on the water.
The ocean and pool wings have incredible views. Garden rooms are across Ho%26#39;onani Rd. and are smaller in size.
The Lihu%26#39;e Marriot - a beautiful property situated right on Kalapaki Beach, which is swimmable many times (check ocean conditions always) - an over the top pool with spas around it, Duke%26#39;s Restaurant and Cafe Portofino on property as well as Kukui%26#39;s restaurant by the pool. Lots of shops and a golf course (Kaua%26#39;i Lagoons) as well - extensive walking paths through the golf course area are wonderful.
Beautiful grounds altogether.
Two of these properties have what are usually considered ';swimmable'; beaches - one does not. In all cases you should check ocean conditions before swimming - most hotel properties use a ';flag'; system to tell you the danger - yellow for caution and red flags for do not go in!
Malama Pono,
Janet
For a great beach I%26#39;d suggest either the Sheraton (ocean side room) or the Marriott Beach Club. Both have great beaches.
