We have a 7:30 departure flight %26amp; we are wondering if anyone knows how soon you can check in for your flight? (NW) In a perfect world we could check the luggage %26amp; get our boarding passes %26amp; then we could spend a few hours without any luggage. We usually get a late check-out from our condo but it just doesn%26#39;t work out this trip...

I can%26#39;t speak for NW, but my experience with AA and Southwest was 3 hrs. before your flight was the earliest.

I think that is the only NWA flight out of OGG. I am not sure how you check in for it, is it with NWA or one of their affiliates (Delta, Hawaian?) Obviously you can%26#39;t check in unless there is someone to check in with. I would call NWA and ask them 1 800 327 2881
Call the airline and ask how early you can arrive to get your boarding pass and check your bags. They don%26#39;t need to know that you%26#39;re going to leave the airport for a while after doing so.
We checked our bags 3 hours before our scheduled flight on Hawaiian and then ran around Kahului for a bit. Drop your bags in front of the terminal with your spouse, park in the airport parking (1/2 hour will cost $1), walk to where you left your spouse, proceed to ag inspection, then to ticket counter, get your tickets, leave your bags, return to your car and have a little more fun. An added plus is when you return your car, it%26#39;s nice not have to wrestle your luggage on and off the shuttle.
It worked like a breeze for us. Unfortunately, our flight ended up being delayed 5 hours and we%26#39;d already returned our car. Otherewise we%26#39;d have had even more time for fun. Best laid plans....
Just thinking ... how early you can check your bags may have something to do with when the airlines actually man (have staff at) the desk. I have never had a problem with checking bags early ... but if no one is at the desk -- well, no can do.
NW may share staff -- given the size of OGG.
