Flying from Kauai to Maui - which side of plane?

Hi all,

Kinda a lame question but I hear the views flying between the islands are amazing. Since my fiance and I won%26#39;t be taking a helicopter we at least want to get a great view on Hawaiian Airlines.

Can anyone confirm which side of the plane we should sit on for each flight??? Many thanks in advance.

Lihue to Kahului - ?

Kahului to Honolulu - ?

Honolulu to Lihue - ?

Cheers,

Joe

well the question is rather frustrating to you because it is all open seating... no reserved seats and the planes are flying at 100%...I hope you have tickets already... because it might take several days to get an interisland flight at all !! With Aloha gone this is happening.

Kauai to Maui is via Honolulu first half left decond half right

Maui to Honolulu ...Right on departure then left on arrival may see East shore of Molakai 25,000 ft below

Honolulu to Kauai...left on departure right on arrival

You will not see much due to the noise abatment courses that Hawaiina must follow.. steep climb in departure and a 45 degree exit from away of all the land... the islands dissapear in about 20 to 30 seconds you wont even get a glimpse ...let alone great view... and thats assuming you even get a window seat which is rare....

Hawaiian is no longer open seating, but assigned.

LIH-OGG: Right for Haleakala, left for West Maui Mts.

OGG-HNL: Left for Leeward Coast, Pearl Harbor

HNL-LIH: Left for best view of Kaua`i coming in.

Of course, this depends on the winds and conditions.

Thanks everyone. From the airline website there are still flights available (Sept 2008, I never mentioned that) and it is allowing me to choose the exact seats we want. I can only assume and hope the seating sticks as Sept approaches.....

Joe

We have assigned seats on our interisland flights on Hawaiian airlines.

Dissdigg, the seating will stick. No more open seating, a blessing, IMHO.

I would request the inside. :)

Love those assigned seats!

LIH-OGG: You want to be on the left (driver%26#39;s side) as you are going south. You%26#39;ll see Oahu and Molokai, as well as Maui.

OGG-HNL: I think the right hand side, although I have seen changes in flight patterns - so it%26#39;s tough to say.

HNL-LIH: I don%26#39;t think it makes much difference.

HNL-LIH you definitely want the left (port) side. You won%26#39;t see anything from the other side.
