We wanted to stay at the Waikiki Circle again in November. Went on-line %26amp; were quoted a 5 night special for Ocean Front Rooms working out at about US$180/nite plus taxes (rack rate $220). Enquired if they took the Entertainment Card - yes - so we just booked at the new rate of US$110/nite for each Ocean Front Room! It cost us over $200/nite in Easter %26#39;07! Got the tip from another posting on TA. I wouldn%26#39;t have thought of it. That%26#39;s a lotta maitais. Ya gotta love this site!
p.s.
One card per room needed - still a top spot %26amp; a great price.
Entertainment Book Savings
Nice savings, Harleynut!
We%26#39;re getting 50% off rack rate at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach!
Yep, I too love TripAdvisor.
Entertainment Book Savings
1TravelingFamily, If you don%26#39;t mind me asking, what are you paying for the outrigger? I looked on their website and the cheapest room is $205 when we are going in October. If I use the entertainment book I could get it for 102.50? If so that would be awesome! Thanks.
I%26#39;m interested in cost of outrigger waikiki on the beach too - we%26#39;ve booked at $205, could I get it cheaper using the Entertainment Card? Card will cost us approx $40 incl postage to NZ - is it worth it? Thanks
';Card will cost us approx $40 incl postage to NZ - is it worth it?';
When are you going?
Right now the Entertainment Book is only about $10 plus $5 shipping to the U.S. The card/coupons expire November 1. I can%26#39;t imagine the cost to ship the book to NZ to be that much more than to a U.S. address.
Hi Dusty, we%26#39;re going to Waikiki for 14 nights at end of Sept.
just went on website, was $15 US plus $17.50 international postage price - total = $32.50US, so around $40NZ - would it be worth paying? If I could save quite a bit at the Outrigger Waikiki on Beach, it would be worth it.
akashellrae~ For what it%26#39;s worth, we got an entertainment book rate of $185 at the Outrigger for this August. (City view, but you can get similar discounts for other options.)
I booked this back in Feb. and I don%26#39;t remember the online rate at that time (mid $200%26#39;s?) The entertainment rate isn%26#39;t 50% off an online price, but rather their rack (higher end) rate. Also, I believe hotels have a limited number of rooms available at entertainment rates for any given time (based on occupancy rates).
Either way, it%26#39;s worth a phone call to ask for their entertainment book rate for your dates. You don%26#39;t even need to have a card when you call. Then you can decide if you should purchase a book.
Dusty - Went to site for Entertainment Book purchase. Why can%26#39;t I bring up the Polynesian Cultural Center under the index?
Hi akashellrae, For a city view room, we%26#39;re paying $185.00 per night. (It looks like twink4 got the same rate we did.) With taxes, we鈥檙e paying approximately the same price you are, so do check to see if your rate is with or without tax.
';Why can%26#39;t I bring up the Polynesian Cultural Center under the index?';
I don%26#39;t know. Not all of the attractions/restaurants come up when you browse the lists.
But I have the book %26amp; there is a coupon for Polynesian Cultural Center in the book.
';$32.50US, so around $40NZ - would it be worth paying? If I could save quite a bit at the Outrigger Waikiki on Beach, it would be worth it.';
Probably worth it. I live on Oahu so I have not had to get hotel rates with Entertainment Book rates.
But, the coupon for Polynesian Cultural Center is worth $40 US. So it alone will pay for the book.
