We are looking at Kai Hale in Anini, Hanalei Plantation in Hanalei and Ho%26#39;o Walea, Honulani and Kai lani in Poipu, Is anyone familiar with these, any suggestions?
5 houses to pick from
Can you try and include links to them? Even VRBO links maybe.
Thanks!
5 houses to pick from
Also, how many of you are there, and what are your interests/requirements (i.e., DH won%26#39;t go anywhere without a hot tub...)?
All three of the properties in Poipu are on Lawai Road towards Spouting Horn. There is no beach along that area but it looks like all three houses have a pool. It is a very nice area of Poipu. My only complaint about staying on that road (we stayed in one of the houses, not any that you have lised) in 1999 and the traffic noise really bothered me. It was not a problem for the bedrooms facing the ocean or even when we were in the yard along the sea wall but the bedrooms in the back of the house closest to the street got a lot of noise. There are a lot of tour buses that go out to Spouting Horn during the day. You might want to check with Garden Island about the proximity of the houses to Lawai Road.
Last summer we stayed at the house directly across from Kai Hale. It is a very upscale property.
We just got back from Kauai last week and rented a house from Kauai Vacation Rentals http://www.kauaivacationrentals.com/book/houseP.html?User=KVR32700%26amp;Num=269%26amp;Name=Hale+Pu%26#39;u+One%26amp;Type=House%26amp;Avail=%26amp;Stay=
The photos on their website did not do the place justice- It WAS BEAUTIFUL.
We like Anini Beach cause it a nice %26#39;home base%26#39; We would walk the beach at sunrise, go make breakfast, decide where we were going for the morning, then come back at lunch.
Anini Beach is almost a lake as it is surrounded by a large reef.
Snorkeling is ok, and it is usually not crowded (last week we were there and lots of the north shore beaches were closed due to undercurrents and high surf) so there were a few more than usual.
If you go with Kai Hale it is right ON the beach.
If you can afford it I would say go for it. Right next door to it is the house that was featured in Honeymoon in Las Vegas.
