Waikiki - Aqua Wave or Celebrity Resorts??

Could anyone please advise me if they know both these hotels in Waikiki? I had a really good look in November and tentatively reserved a 1 bed apartment type on a higher floor at the Aqua Wave for our trip this summer. ( Me husband 2 older kids) Since then i have been worried about alot the reviews which talk about street noise - why didnt i notice these before!!

I am thinking that Celebrity Resorts sounds quieter, its cheaper and it looks more cosy, having a central pool %26amp; gardens etc- but i dont want to get a studio - we need a 1 bed apartment. Somehow it does seem a bit hit and miss in terms of what apartment you get?

Any tips for ensuring we get a decent 1 bed apartment if we did decide to go to Celebrity Resorts?

Hi - I am not familiar with Celebrity, but just stayed at Aqua Wave on our way to and from Australia from the U.S.

We like the Aqua Wave very much, but agree about the noise. The first time we were upgraded to the 14th floor suite and that was great -- no noise. It%26#39;s on a corner so two balconies, has two queen beds and then a separate room with another queen with Japanese-style sliding doors. One bathroom, frig and microwave. The second time we were on the 9th floor and it was very noisy. We still like it there though and will probably stay again. Hope this helps.

Aqua Wave has been remodeled but they did not up grade the windows, the plumbing, or the electrical. They look very nice remodel. But the small pool sucks....it is a walk behind the garbage dumpsters and never in the sun.

We went to Celebrity Resort and had a very nice one bedroom suite. A very reasonable price if you book on their web site. Go directly to to Celebrityresorts.com

Wait about a week or two and call the desk in HNL and ask for any special items ie cribs, parking etc.

The staff is very nice there the pool is very nice and in the sun. They let you borrow beach items umbrellas, mats, beach toys, mattress, books etc. They have a laundry too. They have free coffee by the pool each am . On Thursdays they have a pancake breakfast, and free internet with a time limit.

We loved that place.

We just got back from the Aqua Wave - we to were worried about noise and requested a higher floor - we got the 15th floor the highest floor. Could hear garbage truck in the morning but that was only for a minute and not very loud. The pool was very small and unappealing so we didn%26#39;t use. We loved the Aqua Wave and have no complaints.
