Trilogy Lanai Sunrise Sail

For anyone who has gone on the Trilogy Lanai Sunrise sail, is the extra Blue Water Rafting trip worth it? I have it booked right now for my trip the 1st week of June, but I haven%26#39;t been able to find any reviews regarding it.

If we do the optional rafting trip, will I greatly miss out on snorkeling time in the bay?

Any opinions are greatly appreciated...thanks!

Trilogy Lanai Sunrise Sail

S/H,

I just looked at a review here on TA dated 4/28 titled ';not safe'; and it sounds a little spooky. I/we have never been on this excursion but were considering it so we were starting to research today.

I quickly viewed the other comments and most rated it high.

Let me know what you think.

Blue Water Rafting

Milwaukee, WIApr 28, 2008

We chose the Blue Water Rafting Trip after reading the amazing reviews on Trip Advisor and unfortunately spent most of our honeymoon in agony. Our captains, Dante and Brad decided to ';chase waves'; that were 20 - 30 ft high - and these boats cannot accomodate! We slammed into a 30 foot high wave at a 90 degree angle and came crashing down. The 6 people in the front of the boat, including my husband and I were badly injured. I came down on my knee, cutting it open, my husband ended up in the hospital (cracked 3 ribs) and the woman in front of us cut her lip open and needed 5 stitches. These captains took our lives into danger and I would not recommend going on this trip. If nothing happens to you, you will at the very least be extremely sore from bouncing up and down on the raft. Following the trip, we called to complain and get a refund and shockingly, there was no injury report or record of the incident on file. The boat also did not have any first aid materials. (Only water bottles to cool our wounds) Please beware of this excursion.

Thanks for the post! I am suprised to read that as every other review I have read is pretty good. I think it is probably pretty safe and thta is not common because most people wouldn%26#39;t go on it if it was.

I am more concerned about not having time to snorkel if we do the optional raft trip. We have the sunrise sail booked, but it looks like the sunset sail gives you a little more time. I%26#39;m not sure which one to do now. If I choose the sunset sail, I may have to give up Warren %26amp; Annabelle%26#39;s, which I have heard great things about.

Hmmmm.....dilemma...any suggestions?

Thanks!

I was just doing some more research on TA and figured out that the review you posted is actually for a company called Blue Water Rafting, it%26#39;s not for the extra option operated by trilogy, so that%26#39;s a plus.

I also read the the extra raft option is an hour long, so it still gives about 1.5 hours to snorkel and enjoy the beach before lunch.

Hope this helps you...I know it did me.

We have taken the Trilogy rigid hull inflatable boat trip in the past while staying on Lana%26#39;i (they run it a couple times a week for guests of the island). Trilogy is very responsible and safe. You will likely see some spinner dolphins of the trip. You will be able to explore some coastal areas that are not accessible is other ways. The sea cliffs are very beautiful.

I think the choice hinges on whether you want to be out on the water again or relaxing on the beach and maybe getting in a little more snorkeling. Both choices sound good to me.

Have a great visit to my favorite island!

Thanks for the reply dr!

I have decided to keep the sunrise sail and do the optional raft trip. I fell like we will still get enough time on the beach and we get to see some of the island that we wouldn%26#39;t have seen other wise.

S/H,

Thanks for researching this further, I saw your post right after I saw the review and had not researched it(it was close to the end of the day for me).

We have never taken any trilogy trips but have spoken to a couple people who have and they have been satisfied with Trilogy. We still have not made a decision about Lanai?

We have been to Warren %26amp; Annabelle%26#39;s and enjoyed it but it does run late into the night(for us anyway, lol).

I think for us 1/2(OK 1/3 tops) of the fun is we really enjoy the planning because of the memories it brings up of past trips to Maui!!

Thank you and enjoy your trip.

Max
