My husband %26amp; I will be visiting Kauai the week of May 5. Can%26#39;t wait! I%26#39;d like to go on a boar tour to the Na Pali coast but tend to get sea sick. Can anyone tell me how rough the waters might be around that time? And is it better/calmer to go in the morning or afternoon?
Thanks!
How rough are the waters?
Definitely calmer in the morning, but calmer is relative. It%26#39;s impossible to predict, but May should be pretty decent. Still, you%26#39;ll want to use a patch or Dramamine or something similar just to be sure.

pzp is right on. In fact right now it looks pretty calm. and snorkeling a couple days ago on the south shore, was beautiful. Not much surf, or current at the time we were there.
Just check out the conditions and stay smart. Had tourist from colorado dive into the waves head first, and NOT A GOOD PLAN.
I had mentioned this bad practice in another post a while back when we were at Secret Beach. Three visitors screaming and whooping and diving over and over into the close shore break at the base of the waves.
Yesterday, This guy wound up transported via ambulance to wilcox, and later air transported to queens on oahu.
The ocean safety conference was in session when this happened. We went to the first one at the marriot, and it was excellent.
Main thing is to educate, and make the visitors and residents alike more aware of having a safe fun time at our beache and in our ocean, as well as our trails.
please respect the ocean.
Well, we are headed off to a new hike for us at Moolaa Bay. Will let you know how it went. Still taking it easy with Erica%26#39;s recovery of her foot sprain.
And , you might take pzp suggestion for a motion sickness medication. Other tips, but I have orders by the Admiral to get off the computer, NOW !
Have fun....
Denny
