You are in luck, there are 2 post just below your, one on the Mahana and the other on Maui Kai.

We booked everything direct, and in some instances, booking direct through the website got us a ';web'; rate.

If you are staying in a Resort Quest property like The Mahana and have booked on VRBO and have any problems with your accommodations you will have to deal directly with the owner because by not paying to have his property managed by RQ he is not entitled to any of their services nor are you. This also allows the owner to rent his property for less because all the rent he collects from you goes directly to him. If the owner has an on island contact, which I think is required, then VRBO can be an OK experience.

My personal favorite is the Mahana, but everyone has their own opinions. I think it is a more elegant and well kept property. You can view both of these properties on wizardpub.com and read the reviews. I don%26#39;t think you would be unhappy with either choice. One of the nice things about the Mahana is the ocean front bedrooms, that is pretty special.

We stayed in 1205. I know there are posts about the ';high rise, high density'; of west Maui. I am sure it is there, I did not notice it at Mahana. It is well removed from that but close enough to make the drive painless.

We drove in from the main hwy into a lovely driveway entrance. Seemed very secluded and it was. Not high density, but it was high rise. I chose 12th floor for a reason. And it was just what I wished for. The views when you walk in are AMAZING. I haven%26#39;t seen any yet that compete.

I will look up the corner unit at Maui Kai that I would have booked as it has a huge corner deck, but after being up high, I think I would still go for the view.
