discounts and value books

We plan to do some activities when in Maui such as the submarine ride, a lua, helicopter ride, sailing etc. and are wondering how to get the best prices. Any suggestions of websites or coupon books? Is it cheaper to buy tickets online before we go?

thanks

discounts and value books

It really depends on what you want.

These you need to reserve in advance:

Zip Lines

Luau if you want a specific one. If any luau will do, there will be some available when you get there

Submarine rides

Helicopter rides

Any attraction/tour/restaurant that you really want

You will be able to get discounts on a lot of different tours/attractions when you get there. But I would not take a chance on anything you really want.

You can get the following brochures for about $4 shipping each (You can also pick them up for free when you get there):

%26#39;This Week on Maui%26#39; www.thisweek.com You can also read the entire brochure online including the coupons.

%26#39;101 Things to do on Maui%26#39; www.101thingstodo.com

%26#39;Maui Gold%26#39; www.spotlighthawaii.com

These have free brochures they will send you. There are some coupons:

www.gohawaii.com Official Hawaii Visitors Bureau

www.visitmaui.com Maui Visitors Bureau

You can also find some coupons:

www.ecouponshawaii.com

www.valpak.com

Lahaina zipcode 96761

This one has good discounts:

www.hawaiifun.org

Activity warehouse:

www.activityworld.com

www.hawaiiactivities.com

Entertainment Books are now only $15 including shipping. Coupons expire November 1. There are some Maui coupons.

You can also print 3 free coupons in their trial offer. Use the coupons within 14 days of printing.

Some of the more popular activities may be booked if you wait. I think the better snorkeling excursions like Trilogy, and one of the best luaus like Old Lahaina Luau need to be booked in advance.....the earlier the better. FYI, there are no discounts for The Old Lahaina Luau. Also ziplining has been very popular, as well as the magic/comedy show Warren %26amp; Annabelle%26#39;s. I would goggle these and check out their websites. On these, I would book online.

When you arrive at the airport, there are magazines and pamphlets next to the baggage claim. Grab these and thumb through them. There are lots of suggestions, as well as coupons for many things to do. We have friends that were able to book a helicopter ride a couple of days after they arrived. We also were able to book a bike ride down Haleakala after we arrived and at a good price.

I priced out activities and prebooked my activities with Brad at Activity World (You can really save some money with combo rates)

You can e-mail Brad@expedia.com or call him at 1-800-624-7771 and ask him to put your package of activities together for what you wish to do.

What great tips! Thanks everyone. Very helpful. How far ahead do you think you have to book the Lahaina Luau? And I heard that Warren and Annabellles does a kid friendly show sometimes but didn%26#39;t see it on their website. Anyone heard of that?

We booked the OLL six months in advance because we wanted seating ';in the chairs, not the mats'; and wanted front row center. Even though there are NO really bad seats at this luau, I didn%26#39;t know that at the time, and wanted to get the best possible.

Yes, I heard that Warren %26amp; Annabelle%26#39;s had a kid-friendly show......maybe it%26#39;s on a certain night or something?? Call them at 808-667-6244 and ask them. (Remember the time change though....)

Is the %26#39;08 Hawaii Entertainment? Book the one for Maui? Also, are the coupons good through the end of 2008?

Thanks!

Looks like the Entertainment book mostly has discounts for the island of Hawaii and Honolulu coupons was all I was able to see. There is only one Hawaii book. What do they have in there for Maui, if anyone knows? It is now $15 so wondering if it is worth the purchase...

thanks for letting me know to book the OLL in advance. I would have otherwise waited till a week before! Still deciding on the Trilogy trip to Lanai or instead, just taking the ferry over and walking to Halope Bay. (alot cheaper!) thoughts on either trip? What%26#39;s the best deal you%26#39;ve found on the Trilogy trip?

Kitkat

We has the same question - ferry or Trilogy. Based on my wife%26#39;s preference to ';have an adventure'; and helpful responses to a similar question that I posted on this forum, we decided on the ferry. Here%26#39;s a link to my earlier question and the responses. Hope this helps.
