Any recent US Airways Experiences?

Good, bad or otherwise? I wanted to hear from people who have flown recently to Kauai from Phoenix on US Airways.

Thanks for any input you can give! :)

Any recent US Airways Experiences?

Flew with them today, from Phoenix. Overall I can%26#39;t say the flight was any different than any other carrier I%26#39;ve flown, mostly Delta in the past. They have a meal you can buy for $5-$7 on that flight, but buy early since it usually sells out. There was one in-flight movie. It%26#39;s no frills, but it gets you where you want to be. I was pleased.

Any recent US Airways Experiences?

Good to hear. I%26#39;m not picky. We got a great deal on round trip from Houston through Phoenix to Kauai for July before all the airlines started folding. We paid $1300 for both of us and now you can%26#39;t get anything close to that.

I%26#39;m not expecting back massages or full recling seats on this flight. Uneventful is fine with me.

Thanks for the feedback. Have a great trip!

Anyone else?

bump this

We just got back from Kauai on Tuesday. Flew US Air from Omaha to Phoenix, our flight out of Phoenix was delayed two hours while they made sure the flight was ready to fly over the ocean ?? On the way home we were an hour into our flight and had to make an emergency landing in Honolulu, something wrong with the fuel pump. Waited an hour and a half on the airplane to see if it could be fixed, no, flight cancelled. Was shuttled to a hotel at 3 am. Had to work on rebooking ourselves. The first guy told us we weren%26#39;t getting out of there until today!! The second lady we talked to rebooked us through united, we had to fly from honolulu to chicago to omaha. I will NEVER fly US AIR again, they had another flight get cancelled out of Lihue the friday before we left, so our flight was full of people who%26#39;s flight had already been cancelled once, and then it happened again!! I hope you have a MUCH better experience, all the airlines are in trouble right now, it is not a good time to be flying. THe bankruptcy of so many airline is causing a ripple effect.

I flew on US Airways to Kauai last October. The flight over was uneventful.

The only thing was that as a preferred member, I was able to reserve the exit seat. Thinking I was getting extra leg room, I was surprised to learn that the the exit row near the front (where they load people on) was actually two rows and we had the back row, which had less leg room than a regular row -- the front exit row was squished into us. I had the window seat, so I had a bit of space to stick my feet forward next to the first exit row, but it was so cold next to the exit door that my feet were freezing and my water bottle iced up!

On the flight back, our flight out was delayed from Honolulu for about an hour for a mechanical issue. I don%26#39;t get really upset because I%26#39;d rather have an airline check and fix things before flying over the ocean as opposed to the airline that got caught skipping repairs...

I had flown ATA to Maui the year before and it was awful -- absolutely awful. Not surprised they went under.

I am flying US Airways again this May.

Good information. Sorry to hear about the fuel pump problems and the delay. But thank God you are safe and sound back home and your stay was awesome from what I read previously.

Any other experiences with US Airways from Phoenix to Kauai and back?

Thanks guys!

I%26#39;ll be flying in May...here%26#39;s to a smooth trip there and back.

We%26#39;re arriving in July. any other experiences recently?

Non-eventful is good. And I%26#39;d like to hear those as well. :)

We have used US Airways twice and going on our third. (Phoenix to kauai) then (Phoenix to Maui)

First time our experience was fine, but had 1-2 hour delay in Pheonix. Flight was not full so we had plenty of space to stretch out. (May trip)

Second time a perfect experience...all flights on time...in Maui by 1:20! Awesome! Then we flew to Kauai via Aloha Air. This time flights were full so it wasnt quite as comfortable. (June trip)

Hoping third time will be much like second time although both trips were fine.

One suggestion....on board food is not so great...before your flight...pick up a delicious sandwich from the Californina Pizza Kitchen! It was great...and came in a nice little container so we could eat it when we were ready.

Have fun!

Just got back on April 19th, flying direct from Kauai to Phoenix. Although the plane was packed (thanks to standbys from stranded Aloha Air passengers) it was no different than any other flight...even got into Phoenix early. Oh yes, on the first flight (Phoenix to Kauai) a week earlier, they ran out of food by the time they got to our row. Fortunately, we were prepared with some b-fast bars in our carry-ons.
