What would you do on Oahu.. with 10 hours and a rental car

Hey everyone.. We%26#39;re looking for great ideas. We have about a 12 hour lay over at the Honolulu airport and we%26#39;re going to rent a car and go somewhere. We%26#39;re looking for places to go in that time. We%26#39;ve spent lots of time in Waikiki before so we want to go in a different direction. We would go back to the Polynesian Culture centre but it will not be open that day as it%26#39;s a Sunday. Any ideas??

I would drive up to the North Shore, check out some surfing on the beaches, have lunch in Hale%26#39;iwa, and walk around.

Then I%26#39;d head into Waikiki for the rest of your free time. Do a bit of shopping, walk around, swim, and maybe have dinner.

That would be how I would fill the time, if I was in your position.

I%26#39;m assuming that you are going to a different island %26amp; can swim %26amp; shop there.

You can do one or both of the driving tours on this list. Add National Cemetery of the Pacific %26amp; Tantalus Drive:

Aloha,

I would go to Hanauma Bay. I snorkeling there is great, like swimming in a giant aquarium, and the overall beauty of the area is tops. Plus, it is easy to rent equipment there and the restroom/shower area is kept up better than any other public beach I鈥檝e been to. Then, drive down the magnificent coastline to Kailua for dinner. They have good quality restaurants in just about every cuisine. Finally, hop over to the H3, which along with being an extremely pretty drive, rarely has traffic.

Hey everyone.. thank you so much for your replies.

So, a couple of things. We don%26#39;t want to swim because we%26#39;ll be pretty much cleaned up for flying. Dusty, you%26#39;re right.. this lay over is wrapping up 1 week in Maui and 2 weeks in Kauai. We have previously done the Cemetery and the amazing Tantalus Drive.

I%26#39;m liking the sound of Hale%26#39;iwa or Kailua. Can anyone tell me more?

Another question, off topic.. does anyone know of Romy%26#39;s Shrimp Shack? Apparently you can catch your own shrimp and eat them?
