Done Maui - where next?

We are a young couple and have been to Maui for a 10 day trip a few years back. We absolutely loved it - lively vibe @ Lahaina town, perfect beaches, great restaurants, plenty of activities.

We want to explore another island at end of May - what would you recommend? We want to stay at a nice beachfront 3/4 star hotel. In Maui we stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel %26amp; that was perfect for us.

Thank you so much!

Done Maui - where next?

I think it%26#39;s time for Waikiki!

Done Maui - where next?

If you are looking for night life then Oahu/Waikiki would be the best bet. If that isn%26#39;t as important then Kauai would be my suggestion. We like Kauai since it is the least commercialized and absolutely beautiful.

Nothing in Hawaii is as lively as Waikiki, but it is more crowded than Kaanapali Beach. The New Otani at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki might be a good choice for you. There are many lovely beaches on the Windward side and North Shore. Even more activities to do on Oahu (although no zipline). Much more restaurants to choice from. More history (museums, palace, Pearl Harbor) and cultural (Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum) offerings than Maui.

The caution is that if you are absolutely in love with Maui, then no others would do, so you might want to split your vacation, a few nights on Oahu just to try something new and the remaining on Maui where you found perfection previously.

I think Yung4fr has it right: Split your trip - part on O`ahu, part on Maui.

Ok..end of May 2008 or 2009?! You are limiting yourselves with a short time frame. If you can find them make your reservations NOW. Any Island.

Good luck!
