Condo apartment suggestions - family of 4

My family of 4 are heading to Hawaii for the first time in August and are looking for suggestions on condo style apartments. We are staying in Oahu for 10 nights so we would like something of at least 3-3.5 star rating. We have been looking at the Wyndham Resort and the Outrigger Regency on Beachwalk. Can anybody suggest any others or make comments on either of these properties???

Not sure of the ratings but you might check out the Marriott Ko%26#39;Olina...not my fave, as an ';oldster';, but well set up for families.

We are staying at the Wyndham in 2 weeks time from the 11th May-19th May. From all reviews on tripadvisor it sounds great

They are nice properties.

If you want to save some $$, then try Resortquest Waikiki Banyan or Resortquest Waikiki Sunset. They are on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki %26amp; are about 1 block from the beach.

You can also try www.vrbo.com for some great deals.

Lots of info:

I don%26#39;t know about the properties mentioned, but would suggest The Waikiki Beach Tower or perhaps as Dusty says the Sunset or Banyan. I stayed at the Sunset last year and will be at the Banyan this year, but loved my stay at the Beach Tower and it is right across the street from the beach. They have 2 bedroom condos and even the partial ocean view is fantastic, also valet parking included plus wonderful maid service and washer/dryer in condo! Many other amenities besides their wonderful Aloha Spirit. The tower runs about $400+/night, but well worth it I think. The Sunset and Banyan are much more reasonable, but you may not consider them a 3-3.5 star. I stayed in a private condo on an upper floor at the Sunset last year for $125/nt.(also includes parking)and it was pretty nice. The community washer/dryer is on each floor in the Sunset and Banyan. The Banyan is probably similarly priced. Usually the better deals are had on those privately held condos. Hope the info helps, it really depends on your budget and amenities desired.

Hi griffoz,

We have stayed 3 times at the Castle Waikiki Shore (Condos)which is situated right on Waikiki beach just next door to Fort de Russy.... These units are quite basic (don%26#39;t expect 5 star accommodation here)-but they are self-contained ie with kitchenette/washer-dryer/balcony and available in one bed studio or larger accommodation styles. Look them up on the internet for an overview and costings-comparisons and also check out fellow travellers%26#39; feedback from TripAdvisor.com.

We are off on Saturday 3 May to stay here for 9 nights. Have fun in Hawaii... Cheers, Gribbsfam (Brisbane, Australia)
