Hang Gliding in Maui?

I just read an article in National Geographic Travel Mag that one of the top 5 places in the US to hanglide is Maui. Can anyone give more information about how many places do it, how long it is, how expensive. Also, I am very prone to nausia (can%26#39;t ride rollercoasters, play 3-D video games, etc). Will this be a problem, I%26#39;ve never done skydiving because of this. Do you slowly fall or is it pretty fast?

Thanks.

They use ultra lights (powered) rather than the pure ';run off a cliff'; hang gliders. Send them an email with your questions.

Yeah I used the same as listed above. Below is from my trip report last year. Depending on what time of year determines how many waterfalls you see. As for getting sick, I am not sure, it reminded me of being in a cessna little plane or riding on a motor cycle but in the sky. The gliding down is slow, everything is smooth, nothing choppy when we went. It was a blast. You can go either an hour or half hour.

2/20 I wake up to go Hang Gliding with the most friendiest guy Armin. Look up Hang Gliding Maui and look at his pics. I will try to post one of mine. He takes me up to about 3000 ft to overlook Hana and the coast line. We see many waterfalls. A huge one in particular captivates me, it is off the Pipiwai Trail near where the steel bridges are. You can%26#39;t see it fromm the trail. Anyway by the end of the flight Armin estmated we saw around 1000 waterfalls! Amazing. Oh yeah from3000 ft he turns off the engine and we glide down! Even landing w/ no engine. I guess thats why they call it hang gliding! My flight was 2 hours long. Scott stayed grounded.

I saw their website, are they the only ones who do it on Maui?

I%26#39;m pretty sure Armin is also a non-powered hang gliding instructor - so you might send him an email if that%26#39;s what you are interested in. If nothing else, I%26#39; sure he can direct you to someone that does hang gliding.

As far as the ultralight goes: I%26#39;m not prone to motion sickness, so I may not be a good judge, but I found the trike ride very gentle on the stomach. My wife, who is very mildly susceptible to car sickness (mostly when trying to read while riding in a car) also did not have a problem - but she loves roller coasters - so again, maybe not a good gauge. There wasn%26#39;t a lot of swooping and dipping and so forth - mostly gentle, blissful soaring over the most beautiful landscape on earth. Like Yetalo, we glided down from 3500 feet, and landed without benefit of the engine, and it was very gentle.
