Hi yankeeCA, what time are you getting in? Whatever it is it seems to me it is MUCH more of a hassle to load and unload the car and unpack and pack for one night%26#39;s lodging elsewhere. And, will the cost saving really be worth it? Think of it this way....you%26#39;ll get in late, order some room service, do some light unpacking, then get into that wonderful Ritz bed with great linens after a long day of stressful travelling and you get to wake up in the place you are going to be for your entire vacation! I can%26#39;t think of anything better to look forward after all the airport hassles than sleeping at the Ritz!

I also agree that if you can swing it, stay at the Ritz. If you stay anywhere else, you%26#39;ll have to check out in the morning, and you%26#39;ll probably be tired from your travels the day before. It will then take time to pack up the car and drive to the Ritz, check in, unpack, etc. Whereas, if you stay at the Ritz, you can sleep in, unpack, get settled and start your day refreshed.
Sorry, I should have added that if you really want to stay someplace else for the one night, check out any of the places in Napili. The location is right next to the Ritz and you can usually find rooms in the lower-mid $100s. Napili Bay or Napili Kai are two solid choices. The only thing I%26#39;m not sure about is whether they have a minimum stay requirement.
We are not due to check into our bungalow until next Thurs and get in early evening on Wed. Our solution: stay in Lahaina at the Pioneer Inn. $150 for the night and we can do a bit of shopping before heading to Napili!
