We are booked on a 10:30 am Sunday morning inter island flight. Hawaiian asks for a check in two hours prior. In practice is this much time necesssary?
flight check in1 1/2 hours is usually plenty.
But with Aloha Airlines shutting down Hawaiian Airlines is much busier than it had been.
flight check inNo .... You need to check in NLT 90 minutes before flight time.
Have the taxi take you to the Hawaiian Drive Thru. No waiting in line and before you know, you are clear with TSA checking in your bags and off you go upstairs to go thru security.
The Hawaiian Drive Thru is located on the ground level as you walk towards the commuter terminal. With the gates in the same terminal, one hour before flight time is good. If you do not have a reservation and ticket, than you need to go stand in line to purchase your ticket. This requires time.
Drive Thru is for etickets and reservations. Very convinent and quick. Not everyone knows about these services.
Good luck .....
Do curbside checkin 1 1/2 hrs before departure. New rules at the drive thru check in will not let you get out of the taxi. The agents take your tickets and luggage and the driver has to drop you off up-stairs at departures.
I can not believe how easy the new process for check in is now!
I was allowed to check in and get my boarding passes for all segments of my trip thru Hawaiian! Very nice and I am not even leaving til next Feb!
taxibob ... when did they change the procedures at the Hawaiian Drive Thru? I swear I was at the Drive Thru last Thursday and no one sented me upstairs to drop my clients off. I got out of the car, took the one bag out of the truck, passed the bag and tip the porter helping and my client went to give his picture ID to get his boarding pass and I was off driving away and he was walking towards the escalators.
Something new, maybe, after last weekend?
