I am going to Waikiki in September it%26#39;s my second visit. Although I have been before (4 years ago) I do remember last time I really wanted somewhere that did american or chinese style buffets and I couldn%26#39;t find either. Does anyone know where I can find either of these?
Buffets in Waikiki
Smorgy%26#39;s on Kuhio is an all-buffet restaurant serving all day.
Buffets in Waikiki
Chinese buffets in Waikiki:
J.R Chinese Buffet in International Market Place - not too good though
China Buffet in Holiday Inn - decent
There is another that I don%26#39;t know the name of %26amp; have not been there - In Castle Hokele Suites on Lewers Street
American buffet:
Perry%26#39;s Smorgy - not too good though
There is a really good Chinese buffet near the airport. Chan%26#39;s Gourmet Buffet
Hey Lady!!!! Didn%26#39;t you know that Honolulu is part of the U.S.? What%26#39;s the matter, you don%26#39;t like Hawaiian food? We are quite s diverse country with many different people and foods...Gawd how can you complan about food when your national diet consist of haggis, blood pudding, bubble %26amp; Squeak, potato scones and cockles........Have fun :o) Ms. Traci
If you check out the Creations Show at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, the dinner is served buffet-style.
I love Todai for buffet....it is always crowded so get there early for lunch or dinner!
I love your response ripley - everyfood you mention apart from one ISN%26#39;T English!!!! I%26#39;m guessing ladysekc is including hawaiian food within the american buffet so she can have a wide variety of choice within that one!!
Anyway, ladysekc, it is worth taking a stroll around the morning you get there as there are signs up for buffets everywhere - most hotels ahev a buffet breakfast that you can pay for even if you are not a guest. I don%26#39;t know what the food is like but the Pacific Beach Hotel does buffet service in their Oceanarium Restaurant - never ate there but the guide books say it%26#39;s great!! They have menus online (without prices) on their website - seems like it%26#39;s fusion food - bit of everything!!
Makino Chaya at Aloha Tower is great and Todai in Waikiki is good. Perry%26#39;s Smorgy is way old school, I didn%26#39;t even know they were around still!
I am greatful for all the responses so far getting a better idea on what I can do this time around. I particularly loved the last response to a previous post. You were absolutely right non british food and nothing mentioned that I eat lol.
Makino Chaya at Aloha Tower is great and Todai in Waikiki is good.
Those are two great choices. Not Chinese or American cuisine, but still a good variety.
In my opinion, you should stay away from Smorgy%26#39;s. We went there for lunch one day in October because someone on this board raved about it...what a disappointment! Not many choices and what was there was not very good.
