Society of Seven - Still running?

Went to Waikiki during Easter %26#39;07 and we saw a show at the Outrigger? called Society of Seven (I think). Is it still running? It was a fairly fast-paced music/comedy/variety show and I wanted to take a couple of freinds there in November, if it%26#39;s still on. The performers were quite talented.

I believe it is as I saw a big sign for it at the Outrigger Waikiki a couple of weeks ago when I was there.

If you ever make it to Vegas, the original Society of Seven (SOS) is performing there, while the ';younger'; version of them is performing at the Outrigger. Or it might be the other way around. I keep forgetting!

I remember when we saw the show that they did mention about the original members performing in Vegas. We%26#39;ll be there in November as well. The young guys we saw were so full of energy and the show so fast-paced, I wonder if the original ones could keep the pace up without their batteries in their mobility scooters running flat half-way through(just kidding)! They did say the act had been running for over 30 years! It may well be worthwhile to check out the originals for a different generation perspective. Thanks for the memory bump.

The original group of the SOS w/Lani Misalucha with special guest ';Martin Nievera'; closed at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel on April 13th, while negotiating a new contract. While they are hiatus from the LV scene, check their website for tour dates coming up.

The group at the Outrigger Waikiki on The Beach is the SOS LV (lastest version) and their perform at the main Outrigger nightly except on Mondays, with show time at 8:30 pm. Check their two for one dinner cruise and SOS combo.

Depending on the time of the month, the SOS LV normally take their vacation the beginning of November. You may check their website at www.societyofsevenlv.com.

A note: Kudo%26#39;s for Lani Misalucha who was voted the numba #1 female singer in Las Vegas by the writers of Las Vegas, while Celine Dion was the people%26#39;s choice. What an honor for Lani and SOS who by the way got their ';Walk of Stars'; in front of the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel last year.

Stay tune, they maybe a chance that the SOS will make an appearance in Honolulu and the neighbor island this summer.

We saw the ';old guys'; in Vegas a few years ago, and they were GREAT!! I%26#39;ve always wanted to see them in Hawaii as well. Are some of the old guys and the young guys related in any way??

Thanks for all the gret feedback on the SOS, Pity we arrive in early November in Hawaii when they are on vacation! just my luck the Original Crew are touring as we will be in Vegas at the start of November for SEMA. Maybe we%26#39;ll strike it lucky and catch them.

answer a few questions:

ShawnM .... No one is related in the group. The original founding members remaining of ';The Fabulous Echoes'; now Society of Seven was the leader Tony Ruvivar and Bert Sagum. Tony had a brother that played the drums and percussion, but, unfortunately, he passed away at an early age. Tony and Bert are the only remaining members in the original group, now performing close to 40 years.

If anyone was related, the closest one will be the guest performer before the SOS closed at LV Flamingos, Martin Nievera%26#39;s father. His name was Roberto Nievera, now living in LV.

Harleynut .... depending on the date that you arrive in Hawaii, the younger group may still be performing before going on vacation.

The SOS w/Lani, I am quite sure will be performing in LV in November, but, again, where? The possibilities on returning to the LV Flamingo Showroom if things don%26#39;t work out for Marie and Donnie Osmonds who will open in a couple of weeks, will tell.
