Poll question: What are you paying for airline tickets?

Please let me know how much you paid and which airline. Also, if you went through a TA or a Travelosity type organization.

I have a friend who is getting ready to buy several tickets and says everywhere he has checked have seen huge price increases due to the airline issues, gas prices, etc.

$944 each RT on United from IAD to KOA, upgraded all 4 legs using miles, tickets bought over the phone to UAL in early March and repriced last week.

$373 round trip from Seattle to Ogg on Hawaiian, and I booked directly through their website. But I did purchase these tickets back in October, and I%26#39;m leaving on April 28, so I feel fairly fortunate that I had the tickets before the airline disasters started happening.

Travel End of January - Early March 2009. Booked this month.

AA Direct Non-stop Chicago/Honolulu:

Coach seats $776 ea. + taxes + $300 fee to use 30K miles for upgrade to first (AKA business class) = $1151.52 ea. roundtrip. Then we have to get HNL/OGG/HNL -- another $150 ea.

At least they are deductible -- small consolation.

Just over $900 for upgraded (with miles) first class round trip from Grand Rapids via Minneapolis to Honolulu. Bought last November for travel this October on North West.

Ugh...Hawaiian Airlines:

$602 per person SMF to HNL RT for the end of November 2008 (just bought them this weekend). They went up over $100/person in just one week but I was too busy to buy them. I%26#39;m also looking at paying $120 per person for HNL to LIH.

LAST year I paid $330 per person for SMF to HNL and $40 per person for HNL to LIH for end of November 2007.

$450 round trip from LAX to OGG on American Airlines.

I was on ATA and re-booked the day they made the announcement...good thing I did because the same tickets are now $1000.

$780 Kona to LAX July-August 08... ( note we in Hawaii pay $100 more rt flying to the mainland than visitors pay flying to Hawaii.. We get charged a penalty.) also $911 KOA to SBA in august

EWR(Newark,NJ) to HNL via Houston for $667 pp RT for 10/08,on Continental. Bought 3/08, then $120 RT HNL to LIH on Hawaiian, bought when Aloha announced bankruptcy.Both directly from the respective web sites.

$535 round trip per person, Newark to Lihue, Kauai. One stop in LA out and San Francisco back. Trip in September. Bought in March, directly through United.
