Hi. We hope to travel to Hawaii in early August. Thinking of 6 days Maui then 6 days Kauai. Need 2 rooms at 4 seasons (pricey-but seems like everything is)-is it Great? We may spend one night in Hana and will likely do alot of snokeling... We then head to Kauai where we may rent a house in the North Shore area (one large resort is enough). Any other nice lodging suggestions on Maui? Any suggestions at all? THANKS!
Maui with 4 sons (age 7,9,11,13) Is 4 seasons with it?
What about Wailea Beach Villas- they look nice?

You are doing just about what we are in July. We have stayed at the FS before. We are going to Kauai for 5 nights, then 6 nights on Maui. We loved the FS. You don%26#39;t get nickle and dimed there like you do at other places. The cabana%26#39;s are free. The service is wonderful. They have renovated since we were there 2 years ago also.
With 4 kids who would like fancy pools and water slides, I would stay at the Grand Wailea or the Westin on Kaanapali beach (not the villas).
The Westin is not much cheaper than the 4 seasons. I will check the Grand W. but I am afraid there may be too much chaos there...we have enough with just us. Thanks.
Doing my research on travel to Hawaii I looked at all the resorts and my hands-down favorite was 4S -- their mountain view room price was comparable to anywhere else and what I liked most about it was there were alot of extras included in the room cost which were add-ons everywhere else. Have a great trip!
kpf----check out the recent TA reviews of the 4S. Some are very detailed and lengthy and even mention GW.
Thanks!!!!
Wow - that%26#39;s quite a crew! I would stay away from the Westin in Ka%26#39;anapali (the hotel), as most rooms are very small. Kids love the pool, though ... and it is next door to Whaler%26#39;s Village for food and shopping (and general bumming around). Another resort hotel to check out is the Hyatt on Ka%26#39;napali. The Westin Villas as on Ka%26#39;anapli north of Black Rock. Great beach and could comfortably house your brood with a kitchen, etc. The Villas run a shuttle to Whaler%26#39;s and Lahaina - very handy.
Again, I think that there is more to engage kids in West Maui and you would be about 8 miles from Lahaina with movie theatres and more shopping, food, Starbucks and access to the ferry to Lanai, catamarans and other boats and excursions.
The Grand Wailea is supposed to have a magnificent pool, so if you can finance it, I would definitely check it out. South Maui always feels a little isolated to me ...
Word to the wise - August is high season for Hawaii, so don%26#39;t wait too long to make reservations (now would be good!).
