Best way to get fromKona airport to the Mauna Lani Resort

Wondering if anyone can give me directions from the Kona airport to the Mauna Lani Resort. What kind of roads are they? How long it takes to make the trip. Are the roads 2 lane each way? Just trying to judge how long we will need to return to the airport. We are arriving on a saturday and returning on a saturday.

You will have an easy drive. After leaving the airport make a left onto the highway and within 30 minutes you will be at the Mauna Lani. We don%26#39;t have two-lane each way highways here and our roads actually shouldn%26#39;t even be called highways. It%26#39;s just a simple two-lane road.

Compared to the current road conditions in Minnesota, the highway between the Kona airport and Mauna Lani is great! No potholes or unexpected bumps. Just a smooth road. No streetlights though.

The car rental at the airport should be able to give you exact directions, but it%26#39;s essentially - turn left onto the highway, go xx miles and turn left into Mauna Lani.

It%26#39;s about 22 miles and you will see a sign ';Mauna Lani Dr'; on the highway before the turnoff to the hotel.

yes, this is the one two lane road that is completely straightforward and with wide shoulders.

At night it%26#39;s a little harder to see the turnoff to Mauna Lani. You didn%26#39;t say what time you arrive. There are two traffic lights north of the airport, Waikoloa Beach and Waikoloa Road. After those two lights you can start looking for the sign for Mauna Lani Drive.

I just did this today, and the sign into Mauna Lani is just a regular road sign, one could miss it. There%26#39;s a left turn lane.

After you go in and get to the roundabout, don%26#39;t head off towards the shopping center. Bear straight on (to the left of the shopping center), to get to the hotel.

To be crystal clear - do not expect to see signs that say ';Four Seasons'; or ';Kona Village Resort'; or ';Fairmont Orchid'; or ';Hilton Hawaiian Village'; or ';Mauna Lani';. You will have to turn based on the street name.

KK directions are right on. Left on the main road, 2 stop lights, then start looking. It%26#39;s pretty easy. We stayed at the Hilton, but went up to Tommy Bahamma%26#39;s for supper one night.
