Which would you choose?

Hello fellow TA members,

Am going to Kauai at the end of July, and am driving myself crazy trying to figure out where to stay. For various reasons (cost definitely a factor!) I%26#39;ve narrowed it down to: Makahuena, Nihi Kai and Regency II Villas. Maybe Poipu Sands, but I think it may be slightly out of my price range.

There are 4 of us: husband, me, 16 yr old son and 22 yr old nephew. Nephew likes to surf, everyone likes to snorkel. So, close walk to beach would be nice.

Any thoughts from those of you familiar with these places?

Thanks so much! Marlene

Which would you choose?

They all seem to be close in price range $275-$325 per night...They all are nice. You are looking for 2 bedroom? In Poipu?

How much do you want to spend?

Which would you choose?

Thanks. I was hoping to spend around $200/nt. for a two bedroom - I%26#39;ve seen a number of units on VRBO in these complexes in that general price range.

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

I would go with Nihi Kai Villas - they are so close to the beach and have a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean. They also have tennis courts.

I have stayed there long ago before we moved here and we always loved it there - wonderful views and a great location - people still sit on their rock wall every night to watch the sunsets - a very popular spot!

Malama Pono,

Janet

Thanks Janet!

don%26#39;t want to totally throw a wrench in there, but are any of these places on the north shore?

you may have a reason for wanting to stay south, but in july, the north shore beaches are where it%26#39;s at.

Thanks - I agree! We%26#39;re actually going to spend 1/2 of our time on the north shore and 1/2 on the south shore. I loved the north shore (so many years ago when I was there), but it seems that the south shore may have more going on for my teen son and 22 yr. old nephew.

oregonian---that is a big wrench! Maybe they are staying South to surf.

marleneE---I too drove myself crazy about where to stay when I was planning my vacation to Kauai. Take a deep breath. Everything will be fine. At first I couldn%26#39;t decide which shore to stay (North or South), so instead I decided to stay on both (but I%26#39;m staying 10 days; 5 North and 5 South).

Of course, then the dilemma is where to stay North. But that%26#39;s a nice dilemma to have.

Fortunately you have found TA and there%26#39;s plenty of friendly of folk to help you with North if you decide to stay there too.

Happy planning!

Chris

Thanks, Chris! Don%26#39;t know if you saw my response right above your post, but we are doing the same thing as you! Best of both worlds. I can%26#39;t wait. Hope you have a great trip as well!

Thanks Marlene. Now all I have to worry about are the price of goods rising since Aloha Air Cargo is defunct, whether I%26#39;ll have any air transportation problems due to all the airline problems, and the vog. :)
