Weather in February

I know it%26#39;s one of the rainier months but I%26#39;m curious if anyone has any first hand experience from being there at that time of the year. We have only been to Kauai in May. We are staying in Poipu which I know is the dryer side of the island.

Weather in February

We were just there Feb. 15th thru March 1 - had ';picture perfect'; weather. 2 years ago we there first weeks of March and we had dam%26#39;s breaking, 40 days and 40 nights of rain. You can just never tell. But we do prefer Feb. over all the other months we have gone - we have gone, Feb., March, April and June - by far Feb. is our favorite time

Weather in February

We were in Kauai this past February 14-21. We also stayed in the Poipu area. The weather couldn%26#39;t have been better. It was sunny and about 79 almost the whole time we were there. It did rain one day for about 2 hrs in the afternoon. I loved that it was warm, but not too hot, and the humidity was nice, not overbearing. I think they had some wind and cooler weather the weeks before we went. Hard to predict. Keep your fingers crossed . . .

Similar experience to the above: Arrived Princeville Feb 12 for 4 days + 6 in Poipu...the weather was absolutely perfect the entire time (and the Whale watching was every bit as good as on Maui!).

However, as we were unloading our car at Sealodge in Princeville, there were some folks packing up to return home; it was their first sunny day in two weeks.

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

There are no hard and fast rules that apply to our weather in February - sometimes it can be lovely and dry (as this year) - sometimes it can be rainy and windy - it just depends on ';Mother Nature'; and the weather patterns that year.

But just like everywhere else - winter is an time when it is more likely that you will get rain than in say - July. I wouldn%26#39;t discount a vacation in February because of the chance of poor weather though - usually our bad weather will consist of a day or two or rain at the worst. This last December and January were truly winter months, rain, high winds and cool temps made it really feel like ';winter'; here!

Malama Pono,

thanks all.. I am really looking forward to it. Rain or sun.

We%26#39;ve been on Kauai several times in winter. Coco Palms and Waiohai once each (pre-Iniki). Kiahuna Plantation once (not again). Wailua Bay View twice (not again since mini-mart came in across the parking lot). Poipu Kapili (would again). We%26#39;d visit north shore every trip -- never hit a sunny day.

We stayed in Poipu Feb 2-15 this year. The first week was reeallly rainy with water running across the highway toward Kalaheo and flooding on the north side. We were starting to wonder what we were going to do with 2 little kids in all the rain, but it gradually tapered off.

We spent a lot of time out on the lanai looking northeast to see what was coming next, and when we saw a nice break, we would run for the beach. Just watching the weather move across the land and ocean is a beautiful sight, and I think we were a little less likely to squander the sun when it came.
