Renting a car for ONE day

Hey

I usually rent a car for one day when on Oahu to get myself to the North Shore.

I%26#39;ve rented from downtown Waikiki before and paid way too much.

Wondering if anyone else does this and from where you have rented.

I know Enterprise%26#39;s motto is ';we%26#39;ll pick you up';. So, does this mean that if I get a great rate with them for a car at the airport they will pick me up and bring me to my car???

they go through budget,avis ,thrifty and dollar their daily rates are pretty cheap better then going thru the car co. directly.i know the budget location is in the hyatt waikiki not sure about the others.

we we%26#39;re going to rent a car for 2 days thru them with budget and it was only gonna be 67.00 with taxes.got the e-mail conf. directly from budget,but we decided to get a car for the whole time this trip.

Renting a car for ONE day

I have rented from Enterprise in Waikiki for the last two years and have received good prices. They asked me if I needed a ride back to my hotel both times but since I was only staying two blocks away I declined.

We leave May 16. I just booked a small car for 2 days on Oahu through Dollar and it was $16.20 per day. With taxes it was just over $40. I didn%26#39;t think that was bad at all.

They have a counter at the Pacific Beach Hotel which is next door to the ResortQuest we are staying at.

Stay away from Hertz in the Hyatt. We used them a couple months ago ... and they were in complete meltdown! Also very expensive!

There are a couple of rental agencies on Seaside St. in Waikiki.

Enterprise at 445 SEASIDE AVE 808-922-0090(not toll free) seems to have the best price.

I rented a car for one day just a few weeks ago with Alamo on Ala Moana. The gave me a great deal on a Malibu Classic - $36.99 plus tax for the day. The staff was very nice and it was very painless. They%26#39;re at 1778 Ala Moana, 888-826-6893. I rented to go to the North Shore as well and had a wonderful time. Have fun!

Be careful about saying ';downtown'; and ';Waikiki'; together.

';Downtown'; is the financial/business district.

';Waikiki'; is about 3 miles away and is a different district.

You don%26#39;t want to confuse the car rental agent.

the key is to reserve in advance and lock in the rate, I think waikiki is a touch more than the airport but not much. If you just walk up and say give me a car they will charge double the internet price.
