Kayaking

Any suggestions for kayaking on Oahu?

This would be my first time kayaking, so an organized excursion would be fine.

Kayaking

I%26#39;ve used twogoodkayaks in Kailua- they offer excursions, but they also give instructions. My family did it on our own just fine the first time, and then you don%26#39;t have to worry about a whole tour full of people hanging around at the same time. There are other outfits, too- just pick up one of the many coupon books you%26#39;ll see at kiosks in the airport or in Waikiki and you can get more info and a discount.

Have fun- I think kayaking on Oahu is one of the grat joys of being there!

Kayaking

We just spent a few days in Kailua, and the kayaking is beautiful. The water is very calm and lovely, and there are islands you can kayak around. If you are staying in Waikiki, there is a kayak rental place at the beach next to the Outrigger Reef and Fort DeRussy. Have fun, and look for sea turtles!

We took the suggestion in the book ';Oahu Revealed'; and kayaked up the Kahana River. It was great. We got our Kayaks at Go Banans in Waikiki, and they took good care of us.

It was the first time for my daughter and I too, and we had no problems.

I have a 7 and five year old. How safe is Kayaking? I am not an excellent swimmer.
