Does anyone have recent experience at both these hotels?
We are looking to stay 6 nights in mid May, after spending 6 nights on the Big Island and 6 nights on Maui, both at a Sheraton property, and can%26#39;t decide between these 2 on Oahu.
Both seem similar in price, both are ';3 1/2 star'; hotels and both seem to have been recently renovated. The only real difference I see is the Hotel Renew seems to be a little more of a personal experience, but the Waikiki Prince seems to have better views and bigger rooms.
I%26#39;m not sure what way to go! If you have any experience in both of these hotels, or even one of them, I%26#39;d be really appreciative of the feedback!

Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio or Hotel Renew?
Funny, we had this same dilemma 2 days ago! Finally just went with the Hilton hotel, as the room seems a little bit bigger and location easier/more centralized. The downside that we saw when picking this was the parking, which was 20dollars daily (valet only).
Hotel Renew%26#39;s parking is (as I%26#39;ve read) around the corner or one block away, and is only $8/day. Plus, like you mentioned, is more personal in their service.
Prices are about the same, we chose to book with TripRes.com which had the lowest rates for both.
We are also going May 17th-May26th.
=)
Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio or Hotel Renew?
We just stayed at Hotel Renew 2 weeks ago ... enjoyed it and my review should be coming up shortly (I%26#39;ve submitted it, but it%26#39;s not in the review section yet.)
Not familiar with the Prince Kuhio, but if reviews are good, I would consider it for a 6 night stay because of the larger room and better views.
lol thats what I love about this place, 2 very individual reviews from 2 honest and knowledgeable people! :)
I think I%26#39;ve decided on the Hilton, I would have liked to stay at the Hotel Renew, but the price at the Hilton is too good to beat and yep the rooms look a little bigger, and the view also looks a lot better. At a little over AU$1500 for a 6 night stay in an Executive Oceanview room, thats a fantastic price.
Just so I%26#39;ve got a bit of an idea of where the 2 of you are coming from, rough age group? family with kids? a couple? We are a young couple (I hope I can still say young, we are 25-30) and will be in Honolulu for the last 6 nights of an 18 night stay across 3 of the islands.
We%26#39;ll be there the 14th thru to the 20th, I%26#39;m looking forward to it and will be sure to post a review to let you know what we thought of our decision! :)

Hi Mark Syd.... LOL you are very young! (The age of my children... we%26#39;re young and active mid-50%26#39;s.)
I just had a look at HWPK%26#39;s website ... the hotel looks very nice, but a bit of an exaggeration re %26#39;steps to the beach%26#39;. It%26#39;s easily walkable (5 minutes), but Hotel Renew is half the distance. I think you might like the size, view %26amp; atmosphere a bit better at PK though and may feel the extra steps worth it. I see that PK also has a pool which HR doesn%26#39;t.
Internet is free at HR, but $10./day at PK. HR has a continental breakfast included but we missed it as we were out the door before it started (7:30). We only stayed there 2 days before heading to Kauai.
Will you have a car? If so, the parking lot that we parked at ($8./24 hours) is only a block or two from PK (it%26#39;s at ResortQuest Banyon...on the corner of Kuhio at Ohua.) It%26#39;s open to anyone and worth the walk to save $12./day.
Which other islands will you be visiting? Have a great time!!
Just reread your OP and realized that the answer to my question re the other islands that you%26#39;ll be visiting is there.
Hey Susan.
Yep after reading the last replies, I%26#39;ve booked the PK as quickly as I could. It%26#39;s a fantastic rate, AU$1580 total including all taxes, and because it%26#39;s on an Executive floor it includes free internet access in room and continental breakfast in their Executive lounge, so I certainly can%26#39;t complain about that for the price.
Yep it looks on a map to be a bit further from the beach than what they say, but I guess anything in Waikiki is within close proximity to the beach. Parking won%26#39;t be an issue as Oahu is the only place I%26#39;m not intending to get a car. Well... yet anyway... That may change. From what I remember (was there about 13 years ago) most things are easily accessible by public transport or on tours anyway. The beach walk I%26#39;m certainly not worried about, it%26#39;ll help work off the continental breakfast!! :)
I%26#39;m definitely looking forward to it, I mean either way I don%26#39;t think we can go TOO wrong. I can%26#39;t imagine that a newly renovated Hilton hotel would be BAD... And the reviews certainly seem to give it as good a wrap as they give the Hotel Renew.
Might stop by the Hotel Renew and check it out for our next trip. I%26#39;m already planning it.. :)
Thanks for all your help, and I%26#39;m glad you enjoyed your trip and stay at the HR! :)
Mark.
Hi Mark... I think you%26#39;ve made a great choice with an Executive room at PK! Re the walk to the beach.... you will probably like the section of beach that is %26#39;in front%26#39; of PK better than the section %26#39;in front%26#39; of HR (which has a breakwall around it) ... we walked a little ways down the beach to get away from the breakwall (just recalled that bit after posting above.)
Did you have to book a non-refundable reservation for this rate? The executive rooms will be a nice upgrade ... but I didn%26#39;t see complimentary internet, just ';internet access'; which I%26#39;ve learned are two different things.
I%26#39;ll look forward to your thoughts on PK when you return. I think I%26#39;m sold on it for our next trip .... yes, already planning the next one too. :)
Yep had to book a Non-Refundable, which isn%26#39;t really an issue considering that I leave Friday, all the interisland flights are booked and non-refundable, so i%26#39;ll definitely be there. I don%26#39;t THINK i%26#39;ll be needing a refund. :)
To book the same rooms at a non-refundable rate was around $500 more for the entire stay, which still wasn%26#39;t too bad.
Regarding the internet, i saw some conflicting reports on it, some sites said yes (Including the Hilton site) and some said no so I called them. They assure me that any booking on an Exec floor comes with complimentary internet. If it doesn%26#39;t, i%26#39;ll be jumping up and down because that is pretty important for me. Even though I%26#39;m on holidays, I still can%26#39;t escape being on call for work and needing to check the email! :)
Yep i%26#39;ll be sure to report back on what it was like, i%26#39;m certainly not expecting 5 star but it looks clean and comfortable with a good view, so I am expecting it to at least be nice.
Mark.
