trying to pick one for our honeymoon. any ideas??
westin or Ka'anapali Beach HotelI stayed at KBH last year and although it is a nice hotel, I don%26#39;t recommend it for a honeymoon. It is more of a family hotel and some of the rooms and wings are dated. There is a smell in one wing of the hotel that I can%26#39;t really describe.
Are you willing to do a condo? I stayed at the Whaler for my honeymoon, do a search on google for Whaler unit 114, that we rented directly from the owner and it faces Black Rock and is away from the construction currently going on.
westin or Ka'anapali Beach HotelOf the two, I would choose the Westin ... but in general, I don%26#39;t like the place.
I would choose between the Hyatt and the Sheraton for a honeymoon!

These are much better choices. Plus if you get an ocean view room at the Sheraton you can watch the Luau for free!
Nice to see another moocher, Mike!
I actually mooched that Luau from KBH although you get a bad view cause the back of the stage faces you. You can still hear all the music and see the sides of the show though.
The Luau at the Sheraton is worth the money though. I enjoyed it alot.
What%26#39;s your budget for your honeymoon? How long will you be there?
our budget for 10 days in $6000 we wanted to do maui the big island each for 4 days and oahu (hotel renew) for 1 night

You are not going to ';do'; any of those islands justice on the schedule you have proposed. One night in Oahu, unless you have a very odd flight schedule, is a waste of time and money. The Big Island is BIG and needs time. Maui -- is just so wonderful that you%26#39;ll kick yourself for only allowing 4 nights.
For 9 nights, I would recommend 4 nights Waikiki/Oahu and 5 Maui ... or spend the whole time on Maui.
Keep in mind that you will lose at LEAST 1/2 day for every island hop -- and they%26#39;re not cheap.
';... or spend the whole time on Maui.';
What I would do, and I should have done this for my honeymoon, is spend 2-3 nights at the Grand Wailea or 4S and then the rest at a condo in Ka%26#39;anapali.
Also, goto Mama%26#39;s Fish House during sunset.
Here%26#39;s pics from my honeymoon/wedding a few weeks ago so you can get an idea of Maui and my side trip to Pearl Harbor:

West/South split is not a bad idea is you spend the full 9 nights on Maui. Keep in mind that many resorts offer a 5th night or 6th night free.
It really all depends what you want for a honeymoon experience.
The KBH, from what I remember staying there, is a MUCH mellower scene outside, compared to the Westin, which was pretty much consistently a ZOO in front... tons of families at the pools, grotto, lawns at all hours, moreso than the KBH actually.
Reviews are also more mixed recently for the Westin. I have not seen the rooms there so can%26#39;t comment but my experience at the KBH room last year was very pleasant.
Either hotel would be fine for honeymooners but again, depends what you are looking for.
